Do you have a question for your next treatment? Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions.
Muscle relaxants are used to smooth lines on the face arising from mimicry. A toxin injected prevents the nerve impulses sent out to the muscle, which in turn causes the muscles to relax on the surface where the preparation has been applied. This in turn leads to the wrinkles arising from the mimic being smoothed out and not becoming as visible during facial movements. Treatment is usually used in areas where wrinkles have arisen as a result of muscle activity in the specific area.
Like many other injections, the pain of injection with muscle relaxants can vary from person to person. All people experience pain in different ways. Some people do not feel it at all and some may experience less pain from the treatment area. The described feeling is usually a 'stinging' feeling associated with the injection. There is local anesthesia in the form of Lidocaine that can be obtained if desired before treatment.
You can see a small effect already after 72 hours and that will increase gradually. The full effect is achieved after 10-14 days. The effect that occurs depends on the given dose and the injection technique.
The effect may vary from person to person but a good result should last between about 3-6 months.
Treatment takes about 20 minutes. Your injection processor will perform a
face analysis with you to see which areas of your face need to be treated.
We here at Sherry Beauty Estetik use Botox Dysport®.
Common side effects that may occur after treatment are small bruises at the insertion site and a slight headache after treatment. Other side effects that are not very common but may occur are drooping eyelids due to the fact that a treatment of the forehead can affect the muscles that control the movement of the eyebrows.
This in turn leads to it becoming a "hanging" eyelid. This side effect is not common and affects only about 5% of patients treated on the forehead. The effect of the side effect can sit for about 2-4 weeks, after which it disappears.
You are not treated if you have a hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin or any of its components. Treatment with Botulinum toxin should be avoided if you have a skin infection in the area to be treated, if you feel generally ill or have an ongoing infection in your body and are going on treatment. We also do not carry out any treatment if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, this applies to all receiving aesthetic treatments at the clinic as well as to various medical conditions such as ALS and Myastena Gravis.
Remember not to touch the insert after treatment. You can return to your usual employment immediately after treatment. Remember not to press or massage on the area as this may cause the preparation to spread out and may affect other muscles in the immediate area. The first 24 hours you should avoid direct sunlight, extreme heat, hot shower and hard training.
Fillers are hyaluronic acid which is a substance already found in our body and 50% of this substance is placed under the deeper layers of the skin. Hyaluronic acid is a water-binding sugar molecule that forms a jelly-like substance in the skin when it binds water. This substance has a lubricating and moisturizing effect in the skin. Hyaluronic acid also has a shock absorbing effect that we use as a filler between the different fibers of the skin such as elastin and collagen. Over time, we lose hyaluronic acid and the lack of this substance leads to the skin losing its elasticity, becoming drier and wrinkles becoming increasingly clear. In order to preserve a healthy and healthy skin, it is necessary to use hyaluronic acid.
There are very many different filler brands on the market today. We have chosen to work with the most safe and attractive products available right now on the market. The main difference between the brands of the different fillers is how they have been produced at the company and how much the product has been purified and refined. This in turn results in how much water the fillers you choose to use tighten and how fast the product breaks down. The brands we have chosen to work with are leading in the market and are Stylage, Juvederm, Art Filler Filorga and Revolax. None of these products are better or worse than the other. We agree together before the treatment on which area to deal with and then we choose the filler that best suits the area in question.
Like other treatments, fillers can be felt when the agent penetrates the skin. Some people may experience that some areas of the face hurt more than others. Lips contain a lot of nerve fibers therefore even the pain can be experienced differently in the lips. There are local anesthetics in place in the form of Lidocaine and our syringes also contain anesthetics that result in the agent feeling less when it penetrates under the skin.
The result is visible immediately after treatment, but there may also be a swelling
that will disappear within a few days and then you can see the end result.
No. We do not perform treatments on persons under the age of 18, even if you have a guardian's signature/approval.
How long fillers last after a treatment is very individual, what area to treat and what lifestyle you have. Since fillers are made up of Hyaluronic acid already present in the body, it is broken down and does not have a permanent result. Usually, a filler treatment lasts between 3-9 months depending on the area being treated. In some places, the hyaluronic acid can be broken down faster due to the tissue found under the skin speeding up the process, depending on the treatment area.
Yes, since filler's treatments are not permanent and disappear over time, the shape of the treated areas will eventually return to their original form.
In some cases, there may be pockets of skin under the skin where fillers can accumulate and form fluid around them leading to an encapsulation. These enclosures are not long-lasting, nor are they dangerous. The encapsulations normally disappear after a couple of weeks. Should these not go away, please feel free to contact us and we will help you further.
Common side effects that may occur with fillers treatment include bleeding associated with treatment, bruising and swelling just after treatment. These side effects persist for about a week. Less common side effects that may occur are infection, rash and hypersensitivity. In case of less common side effects, please feel free to contact us and we will help you through the entire process.
Yes, fillers that are hyaluronic acid based can break down faster using an antidote called Hyalase. The agent then breaks down and within 24 hours you have got back your original appearance.
After a filler treatment, there are different things to consider. You should avoid sunbathing, sauna and steam baths or expose yourself to extreme cold for a period of time (up to 2 weeks depending on possible swelling). Avoid make-up on the treated area up to 12 hours after treatment. Avoid drinking alcohol 24-48 hours after treatment as this may increase the current swelling associated with the injection. Avoid intensive exercise 24-48 hours after treatment. Avoid massaging the treated area for up to 2 weeks except if you have treated the lips, back of the hand and the throat. Avoid NSAIDs in the form of Albyl, Magnecyl, Ipren and Voltaren or similar preparations that have an anti-inflammatory effect as it may increase bleeding in the treated area up to 2 weeks after treatment. If you need to take painkillers, you can use Paracetamol, which is the active substance, including Advil and Panodil. Avoid facials in the form of waxing, chemical peeling, microneedling (dermapen), microdermabrasion, IPL or some laser treatments up to two weeks both before and after an injection treatment.
You can also buy the over-the-counter medicine Hirudoid, which is an ointment whose task is to penetrate the superficial tissues of the skin and counteract the formation of the superficial blood clots that have occurred during the injection treatment. This in turn leads to a faster resolution of the bruises and swelling.
It is important that you are not tanned or have been sunbathing for the last three weeks before treatment. You are also not allowed to sunbathe between your treatments if you are going to carry out several. Use high sun protection factor in the treating areas. And preferably no makeup for 24 hours.
It depends on what kind of skin problems you have, the red superficial scars you get from rashes and pimples are the first thing that is reduced and then you can see a certain difference already the week after treatment has been performed. If you want to treat large pores or acne scars, it can take 3-4 weeks before you get a visible result. After a skin treatment, the skin will continue to work for 3-6 months and therefore the result can come stealthily.
Only one treatment is needed to refresh your skin, but several treatments are needed if you have a skin condition or damaged skin.
Most skin treatments are painless with minimum discomfort. In treatment where injections are carried out, anesthesia can be used. The pulse is also very fast, so the pain you may feel passes quickly.
You should normal case unless other complications occur during your treatment do facials after 10-14 days.
