Consultation
At the consultation we go through your medical history, current medication, previous treatments and the possible causes of your hair loss. Where appropriate we recommend blood work and review lifestyle factors that can affect hair health. We also assess whether medical treatment — finasteride, spironolactone or minoxidil, for example — could help slow the loss or stimulate growth. If a transplant is an option, we can produce an advanced 3D visualisation of your current hair and the expected result.

Treatment
On treatment day we follow the individual plan set out at your consultation. The procedure is adapted to your hair loss, your hair type, your donor area and the result we are aiming for — whether that is a transplant, PRP or another hair treatment.

Follow-up over time

A hair transplant is a surgical procedure in which follicles are moved from an area of stronger growth — usually the back of the head — to areas where the hair is thinning or gone. Follicles from the donor area are typically more resistant to hereditary hair loss. Once transplanted, they keep those properties and continue to grow in the new area much as they did in the donor area. In some cases hair from the beard or chest can be used as a supplement, but that is always assessed case by case based on hair quality, the area being treated and the patient’s circumstances.
The transplanted hair is usually permanent, because the follicles are taken from areas more resistant to hereditary hair loss. Your existing hair, however, can continue to be affected by future loss, which is why medical treatment is sometimes recommended alongside it.
At the consultation we make an individual assessment of your hair loss, donor area, hair type, medical background and expectations. We also factor in likely future loss so the treatment can be planned for the long term. A good candidate typically has a sufficiently strong donor area, stable hair loss, good general health and realistic goals.
A transplant is not always the right treatment. It may be less suitable where the donor area is very weak, where hair loss is currently rapid, with alopecia areata, active scarring alopecia, certain uncontrolled medical conditions, or where the patient is very young. That is why a medical assessment always comes first.
Yes — you must be 18 or over to have a hair transplant with us. In younger patients a careful medical assessment matters even more, because the hair loss is often still progressing. At the consultation we assess the pattern of loss, the donor area and the long-term plan before deciding whether a transplant is appropriate.
The graft count depends on the extent of the hair loss, hair quality, the donor area, the density you want and the long-term plan. You always receive an individual recommendation after your consultation.
It depends on your type of hair loss. In some cases medication is recommended to slow further loss, stimulate growth and preserve the hair you have over time.
At the consultation we go through your hair loss, your goals and the treatment options available. If a transplant is on the table, we can also produce an advanced 3D visualisation of your current hair and the expected result.
The price depends on the extent of the work, the graft count and the area treated. You always receive a clear quote after your consultation, with no hidden costs.
You can pay in full, or spread the cost over up to 24 months interest-free through our financing partner. To pay in instalments you need to contact us in advance and have your application approved before treatment day — instalment payment can only be used if it is approved beforehand.
Cancellations must be made at least four weeks before your treatment date. Late cancellations incur a fee under our terms. In the case of illness we need a doctor’s certificate; we then assess the situation individually and do our best to find you a new date.
Shorter hair is often recommended for the best precision and access during the procedure. That said, we ask you not to cut it shorter than around 1 cm before your surgery date, because we need to assess the hair’s direction, natural fall, density and thinning areas beforehand. At Sherry Beauty Hair Clinic we usually take care of any cutting or shaving on the day, and always go through it with you first. If you would rather not shave or cut your hair, tell us at the consultation — some patients can be treated without a full shave, depending on the area, hair type, hair length and graft count. This is always assessed case by case.
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic. Before the anaesthetic we first use a numbing spray and then a vibration device to reduce discomfort as the injections are given. You may feel pricking and some tightness at the start, but once the anaesthetic takes effect most people find the procedure painless. You should be able to lie comfortably throughout, and we check continuously that the anaesthetic is working as it should.
It depends on the graft count and the area treated, but plan for a full day with us. The procedure is planned individually around its extent, the technique and your circumstances. We take regular breaks through the day, and lunch and refreshments are provided.

Most people return to everyday activities after a few days. Scabbing typically clears gradually within about 10–14 days. Exercise, saunas and intense physical activity should be avoided for the first two weeks.
It depends on your job. If you work from home at a desk, many people go back the day after treatment. For office work on site we usually recommend working from home or taking the first three days off. For physically demanding work, we generally recommend up to two weeks of recovery.
Yes — where needed, our doctor can issue a medical certificate after an individual assessment. A note covering days 1 to 14 is usually sufficient; longer periods are rarely necessary after a hair transplant.
The transplanted hairs often fall out after a few weeks, which is a normal part of the process. New growth usually starts to show at 3–4 months, and the final result is generally assessed at 10–12 months.
The transplanted follicles come from the donor area and are generally more resistant to hereditary hair loss. The result is long-term, though your existing hair may continue to be affected by loss over time.
